Jeff Rake’s supernatural drama Manifest is finally ending on its own terms thanks to Netflix. After the streaming service saved the beloved series from NBC cancelation back in 2021, Flight 828’s passengers returned for a fourth and final season that was split into two parts. An action-packed Part 1 premiered in November 2022 with 10 episodes, and Part 2 (the final 10 episodes) drops on June 2, 2023 — a nod to the dreaded 828 Death Date, June 2, 2024. Will the passengers figure out how to save their lifeboat — and the rest of the world — before it’s too late? Or will evil (ahem, Angelina) triumph? Buckle up. It’s gonna be a bumpy ride.

MANIFEST SEASON 4, PART 2: STREAM IT OR SKIP IT?

Opening Shot: An old television set displays a news report declaring it’s been almost eight months since the deaths of more than 700 people during the tri-state fissure event. A man grabs a coffee mug and watches as the newscaster explains that more and more people are starting to believe the devastating event is linked to the passengers of Flight 828.

The Gist: Season 4, Episode 11, “Final Descent,” picks up more than half a year after the Part 1 finale, when Zeke (Matt Long) sacrificed his own life to save Cal (Ty Doran), Dr. Gupta (Mahira Kakkar) ordered a raid on Saanvi (Parveen Kaur) and Vance’s (Daryl Edwards) lab, sky-high 828 hate led to the lock-up of passengers, and Angelina (Holly Taylor) and her freshly sapphire-encrusted hand caused devastating volcanic fissures across the land. When we check back in with Manifest, Ben (Josh Dallas), Michaela (Melissa Roxburgh), Saanvi, TJ (Garrett Wareing), and all but 13 missing passengers are trapped under strict Registry supervision at an 828 detention center. As Cal, Olive (Luna Blaise), Jared (J.R. Ramirez), Drea (Ellen Tamaki), and other allies try to assist trapped passengers from the outside, Angelina’s powers and ability to create fake Callings grows even more destructive. With only nine months left until the Death Date arrives, 828’s passengers give survival efforts all they’ve got.

What Shows Will It Remind You Of? If you’re looking to compare Manifest or are simply craving similar shows to add to your watch list after Season 4 ends check out Decider’s recommendation list, which includes series like The Flight Attendant, Emergence, and Debris. In Manifest‘s final chapter, however, the LOST connections feel stronger than ever before.

Our Take: Manifest’s world looks a lot different than we last left it, but the characterswe’ve come to know and love (or hate) over the past four seasons quickly pull us back into their captivating sci-fi saga. With the end of humanity on the horizon, passengers’ freedoms stripped away, and a $50,000 reward offered to anyone who turns a missing 828er in dead or alive, the stakes have never been higher. In true Manifest fashion, a number of final-hour storylines are so outrageous they can only be described as laughable. But through every new twist and ridiculous turn the series stays true to its original vision and compelling enough to keep you craving a conclusion.

Angelina remains one of TV’s most insufferable villains, and watching a group furiously scramble to solve the same longstanding problem can feel repetitive at times. But as grief, fear, forgiveness, trauma, and heartbreak test 828ers in new ways and they break new ground and learn to rely on each other more than ever before. As a direct result of the urgent life-or-death circ*mstances, Season 4 has an abundance of emotional beats. And the sheer weight of saying goodbye to a show as its characters say goodbye to each other heightens the drama and packs a heftier punch to the gut. From new Callings and old callbacks to returning characters and fresh puzzles to pour over, Season 4 promises to show Manifest superfans how it’s all connected.

Sex and Skin: The first episode back is too stressful to be sexy, but stay tuned!

Parting Shot: Two women walk down a dimly lit hallway and open a secured door to reveal a familiar face chained to a hospital bed. The prisoner begs to be let go but is instead sedated via needle by a nurse.

Sleeper Star: As King of the Callings and keeper of the sapphire scar, Season 4, Part 2 makes it immediately clear that Ty Doran’s Cal has his work cut out for him the rest of the series and will have to sacrifice himself and his mental, emotional, and physical wellbeing in singular ways as the season progresses. But Season 4, Episode 11 also offers a glimpse at a fierce, fed-up Saanvi who seems seconds away from boiling over.

Most Pilot-y Line: “Sorry I’m just tired today,” Michaela says for perhaps the first time on this utterly exhausting four-season hell ride they’re experiencing. “Today? Try every day!” Ben replies. These two!

Our Call: STREAM IT. If you’ve been following this wild ride for 52 episodes, you’re going to want to see how it all ends. Trust us. Manifest pulls out all the stops in its final batch of episodes to prove itself worthy of surviving its own Death Date back in 2021.
