Best Streaming Service to Watch the 2024 Paris Olympics

How to Watch 2024 Summer Olympics Paris Game: Live Stream, Start Time, More (2)

When it comes to who is the lord of the Olympic rings, there is one streamer to rule them all: Peaco*ck. For the 2024 Summer Games in Paris, NBCUniversal is making history by making every single event available to stream live. From the first day of competition on Wednesday, July 24 through the Closing Ceremonies on Sunday, Aug. 11, NBCU’s flagship streaming service will be the home for every event, game, match, and competition of the Paris Olympics.

Due to the six-hour time difference between Paris and the Eastern Time Zone, many events will be air on tape delays on broadcast and cable channels in the United States. Therefore, if there is an event that you absolutely must watch live, Peaco*ck is the way to go. If you are a fan of a non-marquee event, Peaco*ck is the best (and sometimes only) way to stream it.

Not only will Peaco*ck have all of the live Olympic coverage you could hope for, but it will also have numerous other ways to watch, stream, and catch up with all of the action. Check out all of the unique streaming coverage that Peaco*ck will have for the Games further down in this article.

Peaco*ck

Peaco*ck is a subscription video streaming service from NBCUniversal that includes original shows, blockbuster movies, and classic television series. Peaco*ck is home to “Yellowstone,” and “The Office,” as well as original hits like “Poker Face” and “Bel-Air.” You can also watch live sports including NFL, MLB, WWE, Olympics, Premier League, NASCAR, French Open, College Football and Basketball, and PGA Tour. The company has acquired the rights to many classic shows like “Parks and Recreation,” and the entire Dick Wolf library including “Law & Order” and “Chicago Fire.”

Best Live TV Streaming Service to Watch 2024 Summer Olympics

How to Watch 2024 Summer Olympics Paris Game: Live Stream, Start Time, More (4)

For two and a half weeks, the greatest athletes in the world will be assembled in France to compete for the most prized honors in all of sports. While the way that we watch these athletes go for the gold has changed rapidly in recent years, that means that for die-hard sports fans and casual viewers alike, there are more options than ever to stream Olympic action if you have cut the cord and gotten rid of a traditional cable or satellite service.

As noted above, there are seven NBCU channels that will be broadcasting Olympic events this year. Five of those will be English-language channels: NBC, USA Network, Golf Channel, E!, and CNBC. For details on the Spanish networks covering the Olympics, skip to the section below.

Five of the largest live TV streaming services carry all of the channels that will be broadcasting Olympic action. However, only three of them have all five channels in their base package; those are Hulu + Live TV, Fubo, and YouTube TV. In my opinion, if you are looking for a live TV streamer to watch the Olympics, the decision comes down to either Hulu or YouTube, as they are significantly cheaper per month than Fubo.

Keep in mind, that even though these five streamers all carry every channel that will be broadcasting Olympic coverage, none of them will have all of the events, games, matches, and competitions available to stream. In order to have the opportunity to watch each and every Olympic event, you will need to subscribe to Peaco*ck.

Back to the live streamers. YouTube TV is $4 cheaper, so if price is your sole concern, then it’s probably best to go with that. However, if you are looking for the best total for your streaming buck, then The Streamable’s expert recommendation is to go with Hulu + Live TV.

While both services carry all of the channels that will be broadcasting Olympic coverage from Paris, Hulu has 10 more total channels than YouTube TV and comes with an added benefit that no other live streamer, in my opinion, can compete with. Because Hulu + Live TV is owned by Disney, as part of your subscription, you get the full Disney Bundle as well. That means that in addition to the Hulu + Live TV broadcast and cable channels, you also get access to the on-demand libraries of Hulu and Disney+, as well as all of the live and on-demand sports content from ESPN+.

Essentially, for $4 per month more than YouTube TV, you get the combined streaming power of Disney+, ESPN+, and Hulu, which individually would cost $26.97. That is why Hulu + Live TV is The Streamable’s expert recommendation for the best live TV streaming service to watch the Paris Olympics.

What Other Olympic Coverage Is Available on Streaming?

How to Watch 2024 Summer Olympics Paris Game: Live Stream, Start Time, More (6)

Embracing the identity of being the Olympics’ streaming home, Peaco*ck will flank its complete event coverage with a wide range of shows and highlights to give you insight to — and caught up on — the games.

  • “Olympic Highlights with Kevin Hart & Kenan Thompson”: Kevin Hart and Kenan Thompson will be bringing their oversized personalities and playful banter to the update desk as the comedians recap all of the biggest moments from the 2024 Summer Games. You can expect unique insights and more than a full belly laughs.

  • “Watch with Alex Cooper”: The host of the breakout podcast “Call Her Daddy,” Alex Cooper will be on-site in Paris to host a series of live, interactive watch parties on Peaco*ck. Similar to alternative broadcasts for major sporting events, “Watch with Alex Cooper” will feature Cooper and friends commenting live on the biggest moments of the Olympics in real-time. Not only will they be sharing their own insights, but there will be special guests, and they will be answering questions from fans on social as well.

  • Gold Zone: If you love NFL RedZone, then this is the show for you. This whip-around show will debut on Saturday, July 27 at 7 a.m. ET and will air until 5 p.m. ET every day until Saturday, Aug. 10. Four hosts — Scott Hanson, Andrew Siciliano, Matt Iseman, and Jac Collinsworth — will seamlessly guide you through all of the most compelling action happening at any given time. With up to 40 events potentially happening simultaneously, Gold Zone will give viewers the best action happening at any moment. This will be the most comprehensive and all-encompassing coverage that the Olympic Games has ever seen.

  • Highlights and full on-demand recaps: In addition to all of the unique programming, Peaco*ck will be your one-stop shop for all of your highlight and recap needs. NBCU will have clips of the best moments of every sport and event for you to watch around the clock. You will also be able to find full, on-demand replays of every event on the streamer as well. So, if you miss any event at the Olympics, Peaco*ck will have multiple ways for you to catch up on whatever you missed.

What Summer Olympic Events Can You Watch in 4K?

How to Watch 2024 Summer Olympics Paris Game: Live Stream, Start Time, More (8)

The Olympics are one of the most viewed events on the planet. The Games are special occasions that fans and non-fans alike look forward to for years. So, of course, you want to be able to watch all of your favorite events in the best possible picture quality available.

Fortunately, USA Network’s coverage will be in ultra-high resolution 4K HDR with Dolby Atmos audio around the clock, beginning at 8 a.m. ET on Wednesday, July 24, and running through the final day of the Games at 5:30 p.m. ET on Aug. 11.

True to its name, throughout the Olympics, the USA Network will focus much of its coverage on games, matches, and events featuring Team USA, as well as on team sports including basketball, soccer, beach volleyball, volleyball, and water polo. Additionally, events like 3x3 basketball, cycling, swimming, and track & field will also be featured heavily in the channels’ 4K coverage. In total, there will be more than 400 hours of 4K programming on USA Network, the most from NBCU in any Olympic Games in history.

Cable and satellite distributors that will be providing 4K coverage of the Olympics on USA Network include Altice, Comcast, Cox, DIRECTV (including DIRECTV STREAM), Dish, Fubo, Verizon, YouTube TV, and other cable companies around the country. In order to experience USA’s UHD coverage, viewers will need to have a TV and either a set-top or streaming device that supports 4K broadcasts.

How to Watch 2024 Summer Olympics Paris Game: Live Stream, Start Time, More (10)

NBCUniversal will be broadcasting the Olympics on two Spanish-language channels this summer, the broadcast network Telemundo and the cable channel Universo. Together, they will offer over 315 hours of coverage from the Paris Games, including Telemundo’s first-ever live broadcast of the Opening Ceremonies.

Four live TV streaming services offer both Telemundo and Universo. However, YouTube TV is the only one that has both channels in its base package. So, if you are only concerned with watching the Olympics and nothing else, then you should sign up for YouTube TV. However, if you are looking for the best sports and entertainment value — as we broke down earlier — then my expert recommendation would still be Hulu + Live TV.

How Can You Watch the Olympics Outside of the United States?

How to Watch 2024 Summer Olympics Paris Game: Live Stream, Start Time, More (12)

For anyone in the United States, Peaco*ck is an excellent way to watch any and every event in the 2024 Summer Olympics. However, if you are rooting for a specific country other than the U.S., then you might find the coverage a bit one-sided, or you might prefer to hear the action called in your native language. Fortunately, there are ways for you to do that as well.

In various countries around the world, the Olympics are being streamed on free and subscription platforms. While those services are designed for viewers in those respective countries, with the help of ExpressVPN, you are able to watch the Paris Olympics coverage from countries including France, Belgium, New Zealand, and more.

Right now, ExpressVPN is offering 49% off a 12-month plan, meaning that you can stream international content for a full year for just $80.04. What’s even better is that ExpressVPN provides a 30-day money-back guarantee, so if you aren’t happy with the service, you can get a full refund.

  • Install ExpressVPN on your device or computer.
  • Select the country or region that you would like your VPN to connect to a server in.
